The patented PERFECTHEAT heat exchanger is the key component that allows us to use your existing cylinder and to deliver solar heated water directly to the top of the hot water cylinder where it quickly stratifies ready for use at useable temperatures.

The animation is based on actual test results from a report based on extensive testing carried out at the Centre for Sustainable Technologies of the Ulster University School for the Built Environment which verifies that the PERFECTHEAT heat exchanger consistently outperformed existing twin coil solar technology across a range of tests.

The PERFECTHEAT Solar Thermal System is different in other ways too

· Permanent display of water temperature within the hot water cylinder. A simple feature that people really value!

· A solar rated thermostatic mixing valve comes as standard to ensure that the water temperature supplied to the taps is a safer level. Solar heated water can be as hot as 80°C and there could be a danger from scalding unless you have this safety feature (it fails safe).

· The patented PERFECTHEAT heat exchanger has an auxiliary electric heater with a special turbo boost controller for use when there is insufficient hot water. Press the boost button to give 15, 30 or 60 minutes of electric heating. It will automatically switch itself off so that you don't have to remember to.

But....it won't work if you can get solar energy. A clever gismo detects 'solar gain' and inhibits the turbo boost from working so that you don't waste money paying for energy when there is free solar energy.

· The PERFECTHEAT solar collectors have a patented design of solar absorber which increases the effective surface area by 20%.

Whilst the PERFECTHEAT collector panel has a nominal surface area of 1.3m² for the collection of direct sunlight, it has a total surface area of 1.57m² for the collection of diffuse solar radiation.

As 60% of all solar energy is collected in diffuse sunlight, this gives the PERFECTHEAT collector panel a considerable advantage over its competitors.

In addition to which, the black chrome selective surface has exceptional properties with an absorptivity of 95% and an emissivity of just 12%. Black chrome is the only selective surface that we can look back on with 30 years experience and the only one where we know that the absorptivity increases with age.
